    KICK ASS

I read the first few issues of the comic back when it first started and it was pretty great, but I kinda lost interest in it and forgot about it. This trailer seems pretty upbeat and makes it look almost like itll be a comedy, which the comic definatley was not.

But who knows, maybe itll be a great movie anyway~

      Re: KICK ASS

I dunno, it looks like it's staying pretty true to the feel of the comic, which was a sort of gruesome but madcap look at ordinary fools trying to be super heroes. It had a lot of hilarious moments if not outright comic bits. I'm excited to see how it comes along.

As long as they don't have their non-super powered crimefighters slow-mo punching people's entire skeletons out of their body in fountains of digital blood.

Of course not but it will have a 12 year old girl who can effortlessly cut a man's head in half with a katana.

Oh boy, another comic book movie to not care about :V

Seriously, I wouldn't mind if they went away for a few years.

I don't see why people make such a big deal about comic book movies. Comics have become good source material for movies, just like novels have been for years and years, and just like video games are trying to be.

As a comic book dork, the problem is that (relatively recently) comic book "writers" treat the material as little more than illustrated movie scripts to be pitched. Comic books are about the same age as the motion picture field and you've got Hollywood big wigs who suddenly realize the two genres are rather similar which leads to people like Mark Millar who pump out half baked stories for the sole purpose of pitching them.

I didn't think much of it until I saw a redband trailer with Nicholas Cage.

Yeah I just saw that trailer too. Nevermind the "making it too happy and upbeat" thing I mentioned earlier.

Like Watchmen, for the love of god dont take little kids to see this just because it has super heroes.

Yeah, honestly, the comic isn't too great, but it's kind of entertaining. That is basically how I think this movie will be. I'll see it.

A very interesting concept. I actually may find it amusing at the least.

If they made hit-girl older her hyper-violent behavior and vulgar cursing wouldn't make me uncomfortable.

                          Exhibit A.
What's the point of having an emergency response system if you can't provoke the wrath of God?

... That's like 90% of the point in Hit-Girl being so young.

I'm kind of glad they gave hit-girl guns because in the comic she literally slices through men like butter with a katana.

I'm even happier it doesn't (appear) to take itself seriously at all unlike the comic. This might actually be an entertaining movie.

Edit: And if you're uncomfortable with kids swearing, you probably never went to a public school.
