Your top #1's of the decade

These top 10 lists of the decade are hard to come up with, but at the same time have too little content other than just listing out names. Let's narrow it down and improve. Our #1's of the past decade, and why (runner ups and honorable mentions allowed).

Feel free to add or ignore categories.

    My List:

#1 Video Game: RPG Maker I
RPG Maker I gets the nod for the game that most affected my life in the past decade. It allowed me to achieve a longstanding dream of mine, to create and release a game, it brought me to a community of great people that has been some part of my life for also nearly a decade, it helped me choose my current career as Software Engineer, and winning the RPG Maker EGM contest is still one of the best and defining moments of my life. No other game comes close...

    Runner Up: World of Warcraft
...except World of Warcraft, which I spent more time, money, and life on than any other game this decade. And, although I spent probably 2.5 years playing, the first couple months was by far the best...Everything was new and impressive, and just exploring brought joy and excitement. Eventually that joy was lost in tedious grinding and guild drama and all the other negatives that come with MMORPGs. But, through WoW I met some lasting friends and had some of the best gaming moments.

    #1 Movie: Lost in Translation
This one is easy for me too. Lost in Translation is a very subtle movie, one that I was in a time in my life where I really closely connected with it. I can see why it is hit or miss with people, but for me it was a beautiful movie that is very personal...and actually difficult to explain why I like it so much.

    #1 TV Series: The Wire
The Wire raised my personal tevelsion "bar". It felt very authentic, I felt like I learned something after watching it. It has exceptional writing, deep characters, a compelling, power, addictive story. Yet, for all my praise, it's frusturatingly difficult for me to convince people to watch it, even though everyone who does holds it in high regard. Watch it! It's superb.

    Runner Up: Arrested Development
To put a comedy in a list of things that affected me personally the most is really a testament to how good Arrested Development is, though I suppose humor is sometimes underrated. I've seen the series probably 5 or 6 times and each time I catch on to a bunch of new things. In fact, I think i'll start watching again after finishing this list...

Honorable Mention(s): Freaks and Geeks, Lost

    #1 Sports Team: 2001 Mariners
It's very unfortunate that this team didn't go all the way because they were so good. I don't think anyone else at the pavilion likes baseball, but the 2001 Mariners were a great team to watch. The moment I particularly remember was when the manager switched in a reserve (Charles Gibson) in center field for the bottom of the ninth, and he responded by throwing a ridiculous bullet from center field to throw out the minnesota guy at home and preserve the 2-1 win.

#1 Funny Youtube Video: GI Joe Porkchop Sandwiches (language warning)
This is still funny to me 4 years later, it has to get the nod.
    XBox Live: Alzar2k
    Playstation Network: Alzar2k

#1 Video Game: Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion.

Redefined, for me, what a big game was. I know it was only "cutting edge" for a few months, and that several of the more recent clones are "better" games, but I still think that the effort that went into making every element of Oblivion fit into Cyrodill is amazing and admirable.

Runner up: Battlefied: Bad Company. Twitch gameplay + meaningful strategy? Sign me up.

Runner up: Shadow of the Colossus. Go buy it used. It's worth every penny, to everyone.

    #1 Movie: Spirited away.

Anyone who has seen this will understand. I've had the fortune of seeing the movie both before and after a turbulent period in my life, with enough time (5 years? I think) in between that I forgot most of the finer plot points. Each time, I took something completely different from it. Each time, that was exactly what I needed.

    #1 TV Series: Hustle.

A british con show. Sort of like "Leverage" except with better writers, actors, accents, and none of Timothy Hutton's ridiculous overacting. A great show, very witty.

Runner up: Top Gear. Sadly, also british. Also, hilarious and beautifully shot. I don't even like cars.

#1 Sport's Team: The Banana Slugs.

I don't even remember what school they represent. It doesn't really matter.

#1 Youtube Video: VideoCompiler's "Ventrilo Harassment" videos. Watch him pester WOW players with soundboards; some of the best overreactions in the world.

Just call me judge, jury, and a cab.

    Current Project: We The Brave

      My List:

#1 Video Game: Baldurs Gate 2

An obvious one. One of my, and many other RPG fans, favorite games of all time.

      Runner Up: Dragon Age: Origins

Not as good as Baldurs Gate, but pretty much as close as you can get without such things as the DnD license and having EA hovering over you.

#1 Movie: Lord Of The Rings (trilogy)

I'm slapping the whole trilogy to this. Hobbits are coo'

      #1 TV Series: Mythbusters

      Explosions? Yes please.

      Runner Up: Dirty Jobs

No idea why. I just love this show.

      #1 Sports Team: Detroit Lions

      For the lolz

#1 Funny Youtube Video: Garrys Mod with HL2 Modd Todd

Pretty much what happens in every Garrys Mod when you try to do somthing serious.

#1 Video Game: God of War 2

Captivating gameplay, stirring score, mythology references that satisfied my inner nerd...and fighting Perseus w/ Harry Hamlin reprising the role he played in Clash of the Titans. It screamed EPIC, and was everything I loved about videogames.

        #1 Movie: The Dark Knight

#1 TV Series: Six Feet Under

#1 Sports Team: New England Patriots - like or hate 'em, you can't deny their impact.

#1 Funny Youtube Video: Gmod Idiot Box 7

#1 Video Game: RPG Maker I
This game led me to this community, and y'know, I'd probably be a different person today because of that. Can't really say that about any other game...

            Runner Up: Resident Evil 4
            So ****in' sweet.

            #1 Movie: Ratatouille
For some reason this movie hits me on an emotional level that can't be touched by any other movie I've seen. I've seen this movie at least 25 times, and enjoy it each and every time.

#1 TV Series: Curb Your Enthusiasm
Considering my favorite 90's show is Seinfeld, this would make Larry David a two-time reigning champ. The season 3 finale made me laugh harder than any other show ever has and probably ever will.

            Runner Up: Samurai Jack
            So ****in' sweet.

#1 Music Album: The Satanic Satanist by Portugal. The Man
This band deserves so much more attention. Their album Church Mouth is in my top five favorite albums of all time. The Led Zep of the indie rock scene.

Runner Up: Daisy by Brand New

Brand New is a band I hate sometimes, and absolutely love other times. This album is boss though.

(best rap album is Never Better by POS)
