When I first read it I thought she didn't think you could actually charge the controller...I was imagining some stupid mom being upset cos she kept having to buy her kids controllers cos the charge ran out.
I guess that's not what she actually meant, but still, really gaddamn stupid.
So clue me in here. How does the PS3 controller actually work, and what did the writer get wrong about it? Because I'm assuming the whole comment about batteries is factually wrong somehow.
well, it's not glued together. and it has a rechargable battery, and when the battery runs out you can just plug it in and recharge the thing, opposed to throwing it away and buying a new one like the article says.
Im not going to buy a PS3 until they make a regular model that is easy to get ahold of that can play PS2 games. Until then its all LOL XBAWKS and PC GAEMS. If they started making slim models that could play PS2 stuff, Id buy one right away.

Well, even when the battery is dead, nothing is stopping you from just using
the USB cable.
Ah, I was looking at that article, and given some of the things companies stoop to today, I wouldn't be surprised. Disposable controllers is something that would certainly make me not want a system, but if it were ture, I suppose gamers would have filled the net with nerd rage over this several times over already. And I've noticed that some of the current gen controllers have USB ports on them and I assumed that the cable could be plugged inor removed given user preference or whatever.

A lot of gamers are still hung up on the BC issue, and I don't blame them, in fact I kind of agree. The original fully BC PS3s are going to remain pretty expensive because they're going to be in high demand, and I don't think Sony's going to bother with trying to make it an affordable option for consumers. I think they'd prefer consumers do have to download the games all over again, so they can pay full price for them all over again. There's a word for that: suck.
