My TV is off.

It just made a sound like a low-pitched bike horn honking. it was very brief. just a fraction of a second, but it was enough for me to be like "what?"

Is this something that is to be expected of HD TVs?

Actually, he got a Samsung, so it's probably made in Mexico.
