Love Plus is, for all intents and purposes, a dating sim which has players establish a firm relationship with their 'girlfriends' early on in the game. Then, players get to take the girl out on dates, dress them, pet them - just like real life.

"I was talking with Goichi Suda earlier, and told me about this guy he saw who went to a movie theater by himself but bought two tickets. Suda was curious, so he went in with him and saw him take his DS out of his backpack, open up the case and place it in the seat next to him. He had his 'girlfriend' on the screen!"

Sometimes I have a hard time admiring Japan as a totality, despite all the good things they bring to the table. There are just so many ****ing weird people over there, and they tend to be the only ones we ever hear about, which makes me think falsely that they are the only people over there.
