There are three Castlevanias, as far as I know the 3rd one is the best.
If you're looking for RPGs, try Golden Sun.
A remake of Shining Force came out recently for it, although I haven't played it yet.
A bunch of others which I can't remember right now.
Go with the Mario Advance games if you don't own the SNES versions. If you do, then ignore the MA games, as they don't really add anything special, and are a little less good. Except for Yoshi's Island, IMO. That was Nintendo's best SNES-GBA port, and it adds six extra stages
The 2(-part) Golden Sun games are decent RPGs. Don't go into them expecting a fantastic story. The story's somewhat interesting, but it doesn't seem to take off in some dramatic way like in an FF game. They do excel at graphics, sound, and gameplay though. Except they have random battles in rooms with puzzles, but at least the battles aren't annoyingly frequent.
Metroid Zero Mission. It's a remake of the first Metroid, but it's a good remake. And it includes an unlockable version of the original Metroid.
Breath of Fire and BoFII. They're pretty old RPGs, but they still hold some uniqueness you don't find in many other RPGs. Namely that instead of being a dragon slayer, you are the dragon (or at least can turn into one).
"What if like...there was an exact copy of you somewhere, except they're the opposite gender, like you guys could literally have a freaky friday moment and nothing would change. Imagine the best friendship that could be found there."
The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap
Metroid: Zero Mission
Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros 3
Super Mario Advance 2: Super Mario World
Wario Ware
Wario Land 4
Pokémon Leaf Green
Pokémon Sapphire
Fire Emblem
Fire Emblem The Sacred Stones
Super Puzzle Fighter II
Super Street Fighter II
King of Fighters Howling Blood
Double Dragon Advance
River City Ransom Ex
Advance Wars
Advance Wars 2
Castlevania Circle of the Moon
Castlevania Aria of Sorrow
Astro Boy Omega Factor
Ninja Five-O
There's the odd beat-'em-up Final Fight One, however I'm not sure how good it is. I never really spent much time with it. Then again, the GBA Klonoa games should be right up your ally.
If you want longevity, get Monster Rancher Advance 2. The game generates monsters by typing in words (No swear filter in this baby). Raising them is unlike any other game... you're always striving for a goal. Hell, I'm still playing.
