I mean, I chose it out of the other Scandinavian languages because it has a unique position where it's highly influenced by both Danish and Swedish, and is thus mutually intelligible with both, giving it greater currency. And it would afford me at least a superficial understanding of Icelandic and Faroese (although not very much -- Icelandic is far more archaic).
But other than that, there's no practicality to it. Unlike Spanish or French.
