    The Poochification of Mickey Mouse

Yup, it's not just Epic Mickey, seems that's going to be the "new" Mickey.

...which is honestly fine by me, I never thought Mickey was a great character anyway.

Didn't they already try to make him a bit edgier and more relevant in the 90s when they went back to casting him in animated shorts?

He should tell people to "mouse off" and kick them in the nuts.

Oldschool mickey was already kind of an asshole. Same with Donald. They used to always get mad at everything and set things straight with a swift kick in the teeth or a good hard spanking of children.

Yeah, or they'd play cow teats like a slap bass.

You know, I was all prepared to bust out comments about "Real Art Is Angsty" or "90s Darker And Edgier" and "They Killed Poochy!" but... after reading the article, I think they're actually making a smart move, and going about it the right way.

Epic Mickey sounds cool and (if my dozens of visits to Disney World are any indication) the theme parks have wisely been mixing in dangerous, exciting themes into their trademark childlike naivete for several years now.
