The year-end onslaught ends: What are your GOTYs?

Here are my picks for GOTY. Yeah, November just began, so there's still 2 months left, but for myself anyway, I don't see anything else coming out to change my picks.

Xbox 360 GOTY: Didn't play any 360 exclusives this year aside from Onechebara, but that was on the Wii as well, and is nowhere NEAR GOTY material.

Wii GOTY: Didn't play all that much on my Wii this year, but if I HAD to pick, I'd say I enjoyed Muramasa and MadWorld the most. As an overall pick for GOTY on all consoles, though, neither of those would stand a chance.

PS3 GOTY: I'm gonna have to go with a tie between Flower and Demon's Souls. Both are unbelievably good, each in completely different ways. Both have entered my top ten games of all time (maybe even top 5...Flower is currently my second favorite game ever, and Demon's Souls MIGHT be in my top five, but I'd have to give it some more thought).

DS: Sad as it is, Scribblenauts was a major letdown. It's fun in short bursts, but I was not able to sit down with it for extended periods. Might be because I began playing my import copy of Demon's Souls around the same time, and that stole all my time. The only other DS game I've spent time with that was released this year and would be worthy of a GOTY is The Dark Spire. Knights in the Nightmare might have been on the list if I'd actually played it.

PSP: Erm...Class of Heroes? Prinny? I really don't know. I'm not sure that anything came out this year for the system that has "GOTY material" stamped on it.

    Downloadable GOTY: Again, Flower.

Overall GOTY: Again, tie between Demon's Souls and Flower.

So, your choices...or is this topic too early?

I think it's too soon. especially with a few big titles like New Super Mario Bros. Wii on the way still.

I think it's safe to declare Demon's Souls my favorite PS3 game of the year though.

Demon's Souls is definitely taking that GOTY space for me. Beside the fact that I haven't played but maybe three new games all year, it's just a supremely fun blast of hardcore difficulty.

Game of the Year: Uncharted 2

          - What an experience...both online and single player. Some of the best cinematic experiences I've had since God of War 2.

Wii Game of the Year: MadWorld

          - What a visceral thrill this game was.

360 Game of the Year: Halo ODST

          - ok...I have to admit the co-op campaign is pretty great.

DS Game of the Year: Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story

          - didn't enjoy the last one much at all...this one made up for it.

Fighter of the Year: Street Fighter 4

          - I love me some Tekken, but this knocked everyone on their asses.

Surprise of the Year: Batman: Arkham Asylum

          - Admit it, you never thought it would be THAT good of a game. Runner ups: Trials HD & Splosion Man.

Disappointment of the Year: TMNT: Turtles in Time remake

          - *sigh*

Co-op game of the Year: Borderlands

          - Level grinding FPS w/ 3 other friends w/ Diablo-esque missions? Yeah, w/ 3 buddies this is quite fun.

          Best Downloadable Game: 'Splosion Man

          - It was between this and Shadow Complex for me, but the old school platforming was too infectious, and playing w/ a buddy gave it the win.

Best Sports Game: Fight Night Rd. 4

          - Better gameplay, smoother framerate, cooler online options, WIN.

Best Remake: Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition

          - A little bias since it's my first time experiencing it, but the old schooler in me loved the option to switch between old and new gameplay, as well of the great point and clicker experience.
