Maaaaaaaaan, going from XP right into W7 without every using Vista

Is freaking me out. Theres so much new crap to get used to. Also alot of things I dont like, but maybe I dont like them because I havent gotten used to them yet. I want old ass MSpaint back though! This new paint thing is too weird!

Also a mouse just doesnt feel like enough anymore. I feel like a need a goddamned NES Power Glove one each hand to be able to do everything on here in nice flowing motions.

I put some good old programs on like Avast, Firefox, Winamp, and MediaPlayerClassic to make it feel more like home but now I feel like som archaic monster unwilling to give up his past in this new generation.

I'm interested in getting Windows 7 because hopefully it fixes some of the things wrong with Vista. I like how you can customize almost everything with Vista but it's got practically no third-party support for things that aren't intitially designed to work with it. Do you have an old voice recorder that worked great with XP? Well don't get Vista because the drivers don't work.

If Windows 7 addresses these issues then I will listen to that little asian girl. If not why bother?

Certain versions of 7 let you run things in XP mode.

Only Professional and Ultimate have that feature. It basically runs XP inside a window letting you run XP programs inside it. You also need a bunch of extra space and an extra gig of ram above the normal W7 system specs. Ive only got Home Premium so I cant try it out.

So far all my old programs are working great with 7. No compatability issues yet.

There was some program thats been out online forever that has been doing this for a long time though. I forget what its called. You could run Linux in a small window if you wanted, or be using linux and run Windows in a small window if you wanted.
