Used to love it, now I hate it. Ever since the latest update Firefox has been constantly crashing. It has gotten to the point that is makes web browsing impossble, I tried reinstalling it but that didn't help. Now I'm using ****ty IE and I have no way of knowing how to spell correctly without Firefox here to tell me.

Let me rephrase
IE 7 or 8 are fine
If you really want a browser based spell checker then just a quick google search:
http://www.iespell.com/
Dunno if it works but it's a start.

Re: Firefox
I had the same problems. Don't know why the sudden crap-out on FF's part after being reliable for so long.
There's one way to stop the crashes, it's not too hard to do but it's not exactly a super-simple solution.
First, you need to be able to view hidden files/folders and make sure FF is closed. Then go to C: \Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\\ and find any files named "urlclassifier3" and delete them. FF makes new files with that name when you start it again so it's all good.
That worked for me. If you have Vista, then I don't know what to tell you, except to go to Mozilla's site and look for help in the support forums.Last edited by Riotsword; 10-27-2009, 11:45 PM.

Re: Firefox
I tried that and some others, but I don't get the little red lines under the words misspelled so I don't like it as well as Firefox's spell check.Originally posted by Red Dragon View Post

I'm using Vista, but that may be enough to help me figure it out. I'll try it later when I have some time. Thanks.I had the same problems. Don't know why the sudden crap-out on FF's part after being reliable for so long.

And the only problem I have with IE besides the spell check business is trying to highlight text, especially on forums, it always highlights things my cursor isn't even over. Oh well.Last edited by American Hero; 10-28-2009, 12:32 AM.________________

Re: Firefox
I agree with whoever said to delete the profile. It got corrupted. Reinstalling Firefox does not recreate that profile.AIM: JeremyLaCroix
