Well, I know that in Europe it gets set back in the last Sunday of October (today). I guess it's a week later in America? Maybe your computer thinks it's European!
I think it was either last year or the year before when Bush stated that DST would begin a week later, and ever since then, I've been confused as to when it's supposed to happen.
When is the time change for Daylight Saving Time 2009? The end of Daylight Savings 2009 is today’s great Sunday question. And if you live in Puerto Rico or Guam, the question gets even more difficult.
Yes, the end of Daylight Savings 2009 should be today, but it’s not, and it could be used everyone in the US, but it is not.
First what part of the USA don’t honor Daylight Savings Time? Arizona, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, U.S. Virgin Islands and American Samoa do not honor Daylight Saving Time.
Second, when does it end? November 1, 2009, not today. Legislation switched the date from the last Sunday of October to the first Sunday of November.
Finally, when do we repeat this all over again? March 15 begins 2010’s Daylight Savings Time, always starting on the second Sunday in March.
When did this all change? On Monday August 8, 2005 President Bush into law a new energy bill. It changed Daylight Savings time from the old schedule (first Sunday in April to the second Sunday in October) to the new schedule (second Sunday in March to the first Sunday in November).
DST is such bull anyway. All it does is give everyone a big headache. I read an article sometime last year that cited a study finding that DST did not produce any measurable energy savings.
