Does it bog down my computer processes at startup and every once in a while when it performs... whatever it needs to do, update or otherwise?
    ...and that's why.

          Avast. Free all the time.

          Adaware. Free all the time.

          Spybot. Free all the time.

          I reccomend all three myself.

          But that's just me.

          Carry on.

That depends what THOSE refers to. I don't think I've turned into anything recently. I just wanted to let people know about something that's free.

Microsoft Security Essentials is (in my opinion) the best free Antivirus now that AVG started to suck. I've been giving it to all of my clients and they are all very happy with it.

Of course, I'm with Highwind, I don't use Windows so I don't have to worry.

Ya, but don't you use Linux? Like. Why would anyone make a virus for Linux or Mac? To **** off 10 people?

I think perv is the safest, he doesn't even USE a computer.

Actually Linux has millions of users on the desktop, and at least 90% of all of the websites you visit are on a Linux server, so Linux would be a MUCH larger target for virus authors than Windows. A good Linux virus would wipe out almost the entire internet, if they could manage to figure out how to create one...

I'm not talking about servers though. That's a whole different beast.

I know you weren't. All I'm saying is that if a Linux virus did happen to be made, it would be a SERIOUS problem. To be fair, I think it's safe to say quite a few people use Linux. It may not be number 1 but even Dell is selling Linux machines now. It's not so bad, trust me.
