    Fantasy Star Pizzable

Phantasy Star Portable 2 for PSP will basically be PSP 1 with two important additions:
    1 - infrastructure multiplayer
    2 - shameless product placement

Sega's struck a deal with Coca-Cola to include Fanta branded items in the game.

And also with Pizza Hut which will include themed equipment, in-game Pizza Huts, and Mr. Cheese (The Hut's Japanese mascot) dolls.

And the collaboration page on the official site has a blank slot so there's more to come.

Tell me this is a joke. Please.

Geez, how much further can they whore out the Phantasy Star name? I'm with Mora...if this is the future of the series, I'd like to see a REAL turn-based (or even good-ie: not PSU action-based single player) Phantasy Star game. Never got into the turn-based ones, besides watching my cousin play the first one on the Master System, but at this point, ANYTHING's gotta be better than what they're currently doing.

Why, oh, why do they waste money on this and all the stupid garbage Sonic games, and not invest just a BIT into a new Skies of Arcadia?

Oh, wait...because this garbage makes them money, and the spiritual successor to SoA, Valkyria Chronicles, stiffed at retail. This is an unjust world in which we live.

            Yeah, on the PSP.

Seems to me that a lot of the people who played it on the PS3 and enjoyed it might already have a PSP, and those that do not are not gonna go out and buy PSPs in droves because of a sequel. F***, I'm just surprised Sony didn't require that Sega somehow make the game PSP Go!-exclusive, to force fans of the first game to buy the new handheld.

MAYBE, just MAYBE, the sequel will be an interim thing, and once the PS3's seemingly rapidly-expanding install base reaches a peak a year or two from now, they'll release a proper console sequel, and it'll sell like hotcakes because word-of-mouth on the first one and recognition of the PSP version will make people WANT to buy it in its first month of release. But probably not.

As a side note, I now own 3 copies of VC. :3

I love games that update 1 or 2 minor things and expect people to pay full price for them.
              ...and that's why.

...How on earth do you make something PSP Go exclusive?

Make it only downloadable to PSP-Go's?

                    Re: Fantasy Star Pizzable

Yeah, I was suckered into getting PSO ver 2 (or whatever it was called) on the DC, with the added Ultimate difficulty level that made the game unplayable with my 2 main character builds. Forest was not horribly difficult, but popping into a room with shifta and deband active, then casting jellen and zalure, taking a few potshots with my rifle, and then ducking back into the hallway lest I get hit twice and DIE was not my idea of fun when the ENTIRE forest needed to be played like this. Never got past caves in the DC version.

Later picked up the Xbox version, and the Ultimate difficulty level seemed to be toned down a bit. I'm pretty sure I got to mines in that version.

Bought PSU, never played it. And there's where any further cash outlays for anything PSO-related ended, and I do not see this changing any time soon. Hell, the FFCC Wii/DS cross-compatible game was more fun for the short time I played it than probably any PSO spinoff (translation: money-grubbing, bottom-feeding, whorish milking) ever could hope to be at this point.

EDIT @ Mora: I KNOW it's not possible. But I'm saying if it were, Sony knows there's a dedicated fanbase for the game even though it didn't sell that well, and knowing them, they'd make it compatible ONLY with the PSP Go, because that would be probably at least 5,000-10,000 guaranteed sales, if not more.

                        NEVER!

I refuse to play the games I own!

Meh. Got my first copy day one, the second one in one of those closeout "Gamer Days" Gamestop things for $30, and the third one last week as a previously-played Blockbuster thing for $20. Still had the original case and manual and everything too.

Well, i think they are probably doing this to help offset the costs of making the game infrastructure, as i'm sure they are not going to make the game P2P on the PSP in the US. So getting deals with Coca Cola and Pizza Hut sounds like a great idea for them to help make the game free to play online.

                            Just you watch.

Haven't all PS games since PSIV sucked anyway? At least that's what I hear, I've only played the Genesis ones.
