    New Guy

Hello everybody, I'm new, I just wanted to introduce myself. This looks like a forum where you can do that, unlike Gamefaqs or the g4ttv boards where trolls run everything.

Heres a bit about my RPGM history:

I got RPGM at Christmas 2001 and loved it. I made a few half hour RPG's to get used to it, and became fluent in event writing. I heard about RPGM2 in early 2003. Couldn't wait. I bought it within a week of its release with the stategy guide. I tried to get used to it, but failed. It Collected dust for a week, and I tried to get used to it again. But failed again. I saw RPGM3 in PSM Magazine. "300% easier...than RPGM2" sold me. I Can't wait. That made me try RPGM2 again. But I Failed.

As you can see, I love RPGM1, but totally cannot stand RPGM2. I've heard people say how much you can do with it, but I don't care. What's the point if you can't even get down the basics?! I've heard that RPGM3 is just a tad more difficult than 1, I'm fine with that, i just don't want to have to learn a low level code before I can create an event!

Enough of my rants. I'm sure I'll have a good time on this board. Happy Day.

It's a little more difficult than RPGM1, and has a good (bad?) amount less customization. But some people are interested in it anyway (like myself). Just like some people really like RPGM2 (like myself, but can't do anything with it).

DLH it sounds like you are exaclty the audience Enterbrain/Agetec were going for with RM3. People who loved the first one but just couldn't overcome the difficulty of the second. I'm in that group too. Welcome to the Pav, it's a great forum so enjoy.

You should be glad to know, that there are still people making RPGM1 games, me included.

So you will have some new games you can try out in the coming months. As well as an audience to play yours.

Yeah, here the trolls just serve drinks.

*Beats a troll over the head with a club*

Get the man a drink, dammit! The usual welcoming drink! One bourbon, one scotch, and one beer!

              thanks for the welcome!

Vonwert, I don't have a dexdrive, and unless they have one at my local "gamecrazy" i probably never will. Oh well, i could probably just use an emulator, since i DO have a playstation and a copy of RPGM...mwahahaha

DLH, if RPGM2 is too complicated then maybe you just will wanna play other peoples games on it to see what's possible. Your probably gunna want to get a Maxdrive for #3 anyways. There's everything from rpg's, fps, minigames, platformers, senceless games, and of my own category action rpgs like zelda where you can just attack wherever you are with whatever weapon! I'm even working on a semi-platformer game called Shadow at the same time as my Zelda: Triforce game. I have a completed version of Zelda: Link's Adventure, which despite what others say is an original name.

Yeah, technically "Link's Adventure" is an original name, it just sounds a lot like Zelda II: The Adventures of Link.

Anyways, welcome DevilsLittleHelper. Hope you enjoy your time on this forum.
