    The obligatory lurker introduction...

    Hello all.

I've recently purchased RPGM3 used at the local Gamestop, and after amusing myself with Dear Brave Heart for a few days I fired up the internets and stumbled upon this place.

So I lurked for way longer than I should have. I've never spoken to any of you, but I feel like I know you all...creepy, I know. By the way, we're out of tissues.

And here I am, revealed in all my glory...I'm working on my first game, (not counting the little oddball I made to practice with the software) and will soon post a nice little topic about it in the appropriate forum.

I just felt like introducing myself first, and giving you all a hearty hello.

(PS: Because the issue is often brought up in other forums, let me assure you preemptively that my name has nothing at all to do with "flaming" people on the internet. I've been using this name for a long time, before I really knew what flaming meant in that context, and it would feel wrong to change names now.)

It's even more creepy that you are out of tissues...

Welcome, welcome, and welcome. Please stick around, as I think we've not had a bright, literate newbie stick around for more than a few posts for quite some time now. If you have time aside from your own game-making, there are a bunch of RPGM3 games posted to the site from other users of the software (but you probably already knew this), and if you have Action Replay and a USB flash drive, or if you have a backwards-compatible PS3, you can check out some (PS3) or all (Action Replay) of them if you so desire.

If you've got any questions, do not hesitate to ask.

Action Replay Max (or max drive). normal action replay is useless for RPG Maker usage.

I appreciate the compliments, Perv. I have in fact read the discussion threads for every RPGM3 game that has one, so yes, I am informed of their existence

I am obviously interested in acquiring a max drive, since my PS3 is not backcompat...Perhaps I'll find one soon enough, but it will be a while before I am well enough into my game to risk "tainting" it with other's ideas; I want my first (hopefully of many) to be as unique as possible, even at the expense of some technical trickery or something.

And thanks for the clarification Valk.

if you have a PS3, sharing games could be much easier than getting a max drive.

backwards compatability or not, it may still work with sony's official memory card adapter. I dont know for sure. but if it does work with the adapter, which lets you copy memory cards onto the hard drive for use, well, that's a two-way street. the games we have in PS3 format could be copied through a USB device to the PS3, then transferred to a PS2 memory card for play. could go the same way with sharing your own games.

this all depends on if the non-PS2 compatible PS3s retained the ability to make and use PS2 virtual memory cards. just go see if you have the option of making a PS2 card when selecting "new internal memory card". even though your system cant play PS2 games, there's a chance it can still make the memory card files.

if so, well, all you'll need is a memory card adapter, which are like $10.

if not, yeah, you'll need a max drive or AR Max.

Hrm...yes, I see what you're saying. My friend even has an adapter that I'm sure I could ste-Borrow. For that matter he also has a backwards compatible PS3, but hey. I'll look into it.

Every board needs a good lurker. I found this out on other forum boards. Welcome to the Pav.

Surprise surprise? :P I'm shocked people remember me.

                      But this isn't about me.

Anyway, it should be interesting what you come up with for RM3, Flaming Mage... I need to get RM3 again or RM2 and make Glistade... -_-

Yeah. I think joining is the hardest part. >_>
Lurking is so much easier than actually saying stuff.
                            I didn't join for a while either.
Even now, I don't post that much.

But glad you've revealed yourself. ^_^
Well there's been a lot of nights in yours and my life, and sometimes we got lonely so we just "got by."
And we've both felt love for somebody else and other peoples' tongues ended up in our mouths.
