Trying to kick the gamerpoints addiction

I care about my gamerscore...too much. I care enough to play that extra couple hours that really aren't fun for me but I want the achievement that no one cares about. I'm trying to get myself off this kick, y'know, only play when I consider it worthy of my time, if that makes any sense. For instance, I played the **** out of Beatles Rock Band just to get some of the rediculous achievements when I really should have been doing other things.

    Anyone else addicted?

Once upon a time I cared about getting 100%.

Then I got 100% in GTA: San Andreas and FFX-2 in the same year and have since lost the will to do pointless **** in games.

Not really addicted, no. Any reason I should be?

Not really. I'll try and get a few achievements that are a hassle to get, but not if they actually require you to do tedious things. Like finding all pidgeons on GTA4 or Master ninja mode in ninja gaiden 2.
Find a dog, honk it's nose. If you are bothered by this sentence. I guess you're just not cool enough for the noses.

I try to get all achievements, because I've always been that way.

If I find a game I like, then I try to do everything within it. Such as: Getting 10 gold stars in all Silent Hill games (1 and 3 still elude me on that one, though), all battle trophies/voice collection in Star Ocean TSS and TTEOT, 100% in GTA III/Vice City/etc.

Achievements isn't much different. Besides, in some games they are required for unlocking things. Most of the time they are just bragging crap so it doesn't bother me if I do not have them all.

But I must say, if it wasn't for Achievements, there are some challenges and goals that I am sort of proud of that without them I would never have gone for. Like completing Veteran in COD4.

I tend to let Online only achievements slide though.

I have to admit that i think the only game that i am going to focus on getting all of the Trophies is Infamous, i really couldnt care less about achievements in the 360 games i own, dont think i have ever focused on making sure i get one, unless it looks like alot of fun to do, and isnt too tedious or have to restart alot.

Especially when those achievements involve the cooperation of random people who mainly just screw around.

Either that, or some games don't have anyone playing anymore so the achievements become impossible to get.

Kire, think of it like this...

                      Gamerpoints can't buy you anything.
They don't do anything at all.

They're wothless for anything except proving who's got
                      the bigger e-dick hat.

The guys with a lot of gamerpoints are
people that have a lot of money and time.

                      Those people are whores.

Buying terrible games can be a great way to gain points.

Go rent that Avatar game. Get 1000 points in like 30 seconds. Then feel dirty about it.

Halo 3 ODST is pretty generous with the points so far.

"Walked 500 Steps." 50 Points for Gryffindor!
