    Video converting help?

I'm trying to convert some video files (Gundam 00 episodes pulled off youtube) for Vagrant to watch on his stupid piece of **** mac. it doesnt like divx, xvid, and even when given an flv player made for macs, refuses to open flv files.

I'm looking for some free software that can convert the files into EXTREMELY BASIC AVI, MOV, or whatever the ****s that even his stupid piece of **** mac can read.

    thanks.

I THINK I use a program called db Power Amp. It's freeware, and there a ton of plugins/codecs for any type of conversion you are looking to do.

I'm afraid I don't know of any OS X conversion apps, but if his Mac is relatively recent, and he doesn't mind getting another player, I recommend VLC ver. 1.0.1 for Intel Macs. It's got a few small hiccups, but it should work fine. I haven't had any trouble playing all the flv files I've downloaded off Youtube with it so far.

You can find it right here.

Well, I can't personally vouch for it, but there are some older versions available for PowerPC Macs running Panther on that same website. Hopefully one of them will work.

thanks. we found something that should work. reviews for it mention it working on his OS version.
