    Meteos

Did anyone get it? I just picked it up a couple of hours ago. It's pretty cool. Do you say it like Meaty-O's (sounds like a meat cereal) or like Meh-teos? I always say it like Meh-teos .cause that's how it would sound in Spanish.

But yeah, the game is pretty cool. I think the closest thing that I can compare it to is Tetris Attack but, it plays a bit differently. In Meteos you line up 3 blocks in a row, either vertically or horizontally and then they take off like rockets taking all the blocks on top of them with them. Also, in Meteos you can only move the blocks up and down and not sideways like in Tetris Attack.

I'm gonna pick this one up soon. It's made by the creator of Lumines, and judging from all the good reivews, I have high hopes.

I read Tycho of PA prefers Meteos' gameplay to Lumines. How zesty!

And it's pronounced meh-teh-osu, if the Japanese katakana is to be correct.

      Which it is.

I've been playing some more and I don't know if it's better than Lumines but, it is pretty damn good. I can say that is has more gameplay modes and is much harder than Lumines. It might not seem so at first because you can get yourself out of tough situations by simply scratching all over the screen in the beginning stages but, that's not going to help you out later on. You have to learn to play the game the right way.

I really like the game's presentation. It has this kind of Star Fox vibe to it. The music is really good too. As should be expected from a Q? game.

And I refuse to call it Meaty-O's.

Oh, my bad. I meant "meat-ee-owhss" with the "SS" sound from "snake".

And if anyone's interested, here's a media page with a video review:

It's also got a cool video interview with the creator, music-loving, new-age innovator Mizuguchi. Who knew the show "24" inspired this game?!
