Re: Zune HD will be a gaming platform
XNA is an attractive feature for me but the Zune was a pretty generic player, cost as much as a standard iPod twice its hard drive size, and product support is terrible. The game's popping up on the iPod/iPhone are pretty good so unless Zune HD can support the same features I doubt anyone would care.

Uh what exactly was generic about the zune that wasn't generic about the iPod classic? It came with superior headphones, could play radio, had wifi to share songs with other zune users (...) and for my money had a much better UI. I'll give you that obviously 3rd party support was lacking but still.

Ignoring the fact that you should buy third party headphones regardless, Zune entered just a bit too late. Apple already had a stranglehold on the market and mindshare.Originally posted by Dreamknight View PostUh what exactly was generic about the zune that wasn't generic about the iPod classic? Ignoring the fact that your fact is made up this doesn't really answer my criticism of the zune is generic argument. But yes I agree that it was too late to get a good marketshare. I don't agree that this automatically makes it a sub-par product, if that is a notion anyone has.Originally posted by John Mora View PostIgnoring the fact that you should buy third party headphones regardless, Zune entered just a bit too late. Re: Zune HD will be a gaming platform
Yes.
The Zune is not an iPod.
An IBM PC is not a Mac.
Different strokes for different folks.
That being said, the Zune marketshare is very low- abysmal compared to the iPod. To focus on creating games for it is a noble effort, but will go mostly unrecognized.
I think I've seen two people with Zunes in real life.
