    Keyboards for the playstation

I hear that keyboards compatible with playstations exist, and they work for RPG Maker. (RPGM1 at least)

Question is, will any usb keyboard work, or do I need specific kind of playstation keyboard?

You must be talking about the Playstation 2 games.

In that case, yes, any USB keyboard will do.

Dang, guess I'm stuck doing it the old fashioned way.

I guess I had it a bit backwards then.

nah. RPG Maker 1 had it a bit backwards, if you ask me.

they really should have released a damn keyboard for the thing.

I dunno, I ENJOY typing all that text out on a gamepad!

looking back, I am amazed that I got as fast with it as I did. I could fill a whole text box in just a few seconds.

no way I could now, though.

and the controller method did trom lots of pointless dialog from games, I'm sure.

I agree with this, I've cut out a few unimportant lines just because I couldn't bear to type them out XD

Hasn't had that effect on me. :P

I hated not being able to use a keyboard at fist because I was used to RPGM3. Now it doesn't bother me at all. The thing that does bother me is the damn game clock. I DON'T want to know how much of my time is dedicated to RPGM1.

You're the first person I've heard actually complain about the creation time. I myself actually missed it in RPGM2 and 3.

I kind of feel the same way Lausen. I have 20 hours in my game already, although some of it is just "afk" time, it's still quite a bit to a game thats no where near completion.

The game I made is downright terse at times because of entering in letter from the gamepad, and because I was pretty much making the script up on the spot. So yeah, the text pretty much sucks. The game I'm working on mow, I'm writing up the script ahead of time, so it's a little more polished. Some of the lines get reworked a tad though, when I find my original text doesn't fit into the dialog boxes well.

I try not to run up my game timer. Whenever I'm going to work on the system data, I reload the data to reset the timer. I don't worry about this with scenario data because the timer is based on the system data. So that gets run up every now and then. Besides, scenario is where most of the wrok goes in and there's more idling as I test stuff.

                              I don't have the script
                              written down anywhere,

but I know how it is with
trying to fit text in a
                              single three-line box.

What I do is, if the
                              sentence is too long to
                              fit on a page,
                              -------------
I separate it at the comma,
                              or something.
                              Better than simply having a

                              long run-on sentence over
                              multiple pages or having a
                              page contain just a single
