Policenauts is a game developed by Konami and directed/written by Hideo Kojima. It's a semi-sequel to Snatcher and I say "semi" because all of Kojima's games directly reference each other. Both Snatcher and Policenauts helped developed Kojima's story telling style and a lot of material used in the games carried over to Metal Gear Solid (for example, the Metal Gear MK II was originally in Snatcher and Meryl Silverburgh is a member of FOXHOUND which first appears in Policenauts).
The patch requires an iso of the PS1 game and can be played on a hacked system or using a PS1 emulator. I won't tell you how to rip your cd's or where to get an iso but the patch is available for those that care.
