Old stuff you played that nobody you ever talk to has heard of

    TREASURES OF THE DEEP!

It was an awesome game, but only me and my little brother ever played it. You basically had all kinds of subs and equipment to buy and went on missions like just exploring an old pirate ship for gold to exploring ancient underwater ruins full of booby traps, to crazy ass stuff like deep sea dogfights with pirates in hightech subs. Game was so awesome.

I also loved the music. :3

    Shadow Madness!

Poor graphics, nonexistent difficulty, lame battles, but goofy characters and dialogue that made me laugh out loud about a hundred times.

I bought a copy for $4.00 including shipping a few years back because I heard the storyline/dialogue was worth it.

I threw it away a week later.

EDIT: I'll admit there were some charming moments of dialogue I just couldn't suffer through it.

I've got a soft spot for Shadow Madness too.

          Saiyuji: Journey West

Journey to the West as a tactical RPG of all things. Fun little game. Not as deep as Final Fantasy Tactics or anything but better than most in the genre. The character designs are nice too. You play a Chinese monk on a journey to India to receive the Buddhist sutras and bring them back. You're helped by a number of celestial spirits including San Goku.

          Not this guy.

          But this guy.

I always had a lot of fun with it.

Did anybody else ever play Wild 9? I feel like Im the only person ever. It was made by the Earthworm Jim guys and it was a pretty fun game. I loved the energy beam gauntlet gimmick where you could pick up stuff and slam it around, or solve puzzles.

It was so satisfying though to pick up a dude and drop him into a grinder. Or hell there were even parts where a grinder was impassible until you threw enough guys into it to clog it up with blood and guts.

              Civilization for the SNES.

I don't think really anybody, even in this day and age, knows this even exists, let alone have played it on the SNES. Dropped many, many hours into this back then.

Looking back now at the graphics/interface, it's obvious that it's a KOEI game, but at the time, that obviously meant nothing to me.

I played Wild 9, but even as a kid I don't remember being that crazy about it. I think I wanted it to be funnier.

Silhouette Mirage. Magus got this (the Playstation version) for my birthday once, because I'd been so interested in it for so long.

I wouldn't say it's Treasure's best game, but it is definitely a showcase of their zaniest ideas. The division of enemies into Silhouette types and Mirage types means a constant battle in positioning yourself in respect your enemies, and as soon as you think you've got it down you run into a boss that turns the system on its head and forces you to respond quickly. It's a neat gimmick, but it's a little complicated sometimes, and could've been a bit more elegant in execution.

Check out the boss fight at the start of this video. The boss is a Mirage, so you have to throw his Silhouette cronies into the soup so that it hurts him whenever he drinks it. A lot of bosses require roundabout thinking. The ones that don't are just all-out brawls - like the one at the end of the video.

Aw, man, I definitely want to play it again now.

North vs. South for the NES. It wasn't necessarily a good game as it was...surreal. I mean you pick a side and kill Americans in Nintendo game like fashion, just felt kinda wrong (especially when you're playing as the South, LOL).

Oh, and did I mention your troops can get cherry bombed by a napping Mexican if you go too close to Mexico, or can get randomly ravaged by Native Americans? Not the most PC game in the world. XD

For me it is Blood Will Tell

A fun action game for the PS2 where you are collecting your body parts from demons. Each body part gains you a new power or upgrade. The little stories in the game are awesome and the final demon was cool.

A kind of obscure and older Xbox game I still play to this day, you ask? Azurik: Rise of Perathia. It was a highly overlooked gem.

                          This

As for a game. While I am sure somone somwhere knows about Battlezone usually the sequel doesn't come to mind.

                          Battlezone 2.

I really wish this game had a 3 coming along the pipeworks. It had an excellent blend of Shooter, Driving, Story, Stratagy, Customization, etc. That I just love to death.

I heard about Blood Will Tell a few months after its release and was never able to track down a copy for myself.

Rise of the Phoenix by KOEI for the SNES. God, I loved that game. A great blend of Three Kingdoms era action and strategy before KOEI went all RTS-imitation for all their releases. I kept hoping one of their Romance of the Three Kingdoms games would emulate Rise, but no dice. I never owned this one either; I rented it several times and regret never having bought it.
