This movie was fun. Tarintino does suspense pretty damn well!

Re: Inglorious Basterds
I'm going to see it on Wednesday, I'm very excited >_<
I've been waiting for it to come out for months, and I've only heard good things about it so far.
Ants, they're in my pants.Well there's been a lot of nights in yours and my life, and sometimes we got lonely so we just "got by."
And we've both felt love for somebody else and other peoples' tongues ended up in our mouths.

Re: Inglorious Basterds
I definately am a Tarintino fan...
But I've got my expectations of the awesomeness of this movie so pumped up I really hope it comes through for me, haha.
Nah, I'm sure it will be great.
See! There I go again.Well there's been a lot of nights in yours and my life, and sometimes we got lonely so we just "got by."

Re: Inglorious Basterds
First, his last name is spelled Tarantino.
Second, this is supposedly NOT the big set-piece war movie that they are marketing it as. Apparently, the "set-pieces" are smaller, quieter moments, and are more than likely not even in English. So, yeah...don't know much about you yet, stick, but if you're going into it expecting "Tarantino does traditional WWII flick with Tarantino dialogue"...well, you've at least got the Tarantino dialogue part right. Assuming you don't mind reading subtitles.
I've not seen this, so can't vouch for this personally, but read a review that said as much. Can you confirm or deny this, Kire?
EDIT: From what I've read, Brad Pitt's role is apparently barely more than a glorified cameo. In any case, he's not even close to the main character, from what I've read.Last edited by Perversion; 08-23-2009, 08:06 PM.

Just everyone I've talked to that has seen it have all said good things... and honestly I'm not too picky about movies, the only ones I usually don't care for are romanitic comedys and ones that are loaded with too much action. But there hasn't been a Tarantino [I'll spell better, I swear >_>] movie I haven't liked yet... Though Dusk til Dawn is probably my least favorite... But still, not terrible.Last edited by stick; 08-23-2009, 08:16 PM.Well there's been a lot of nights in yours and my life, and sometimes we got lonely so we just "got by."

Re: Inglorious Basterds
Don't get me wrong...from what I've read, it IS supposed to be good.
As for From Dusk Til Dawn, I'll agree halfway. The Taratino first half of the film (the talky-talky stuff) is far superior to the Robert Rodriguez half of the film (the vampires in the bar stuff).
That being said, Salma Hayek pouring the wine down her leg (I've only seen this movie once, and that's the scene that sticks out for me in the entire thing) is all kinds of arousing.

Re: Inglorious Basterds
Yeah, this is true, it is NOT a big WW2 war scene fest...in fact there are no big "battle" scenes, but it's still very violent. Q does a great job building up the tension in situations you know are on the brink of going horribly wrong, and I loved that about this movie, I haven't seen w/ that kind of suspense in quite a while.Second, this is supposedly NOT the big set-piece war movie that they are marketing it as. Re: Inglorious Basterds
The violence is in explosive bursts. It's the scenes before and after the violence that get drawn out.
Also, Brad Pitt's role is significantly more than a cameo. I don't know that anyone is the "lead character"; it's not a story that hinges on one role to carry it from beginning to end. More like Pulp Fiction and less like Kill Bill, in that respect. So you're a fish out of water...
Keep swimming.
What else can you do?

Re: Inglorious Basterds
I saw it, I loved it.
Wasn't let down, just like I figured I wouldn't be.
However, one part really grossed me out and I had to close my eyes and hide like a girl. Good thing I'm a girl I guess. >_>Well there's been a lot of nights in yours and my life, and sometimes we got lonely so we just "got by."
