    Quest for the funky smell

So Im on the computer the other day, and all of a sudden this moldy kind of smell comes out of nowhere. I start looking around to see if mabye I had left an apple core, or spilt something on the carpet somewhere and its starting to rot. I didnt find anything, so I just forgot about it.

The next day I smell it again, and it seems to come and go. Its still the same. One minute nothing and the next I get a "whif" of it. I started crawling around on the floor smelling everything to find out where the **** its comming from.

It doesnt really smell like rotting flesh, or moldy fruit. Just some kind of moldy, musty smell.

I havent been able to find anything. Its really starting to freak me out. Having mold in the air can actually make you really sick, or kill you if its bad enough.

Check your walls. Window panes. Might even be UNDER your carpet.

Mold can be scary. If you can't find it, you may need a professional...

The smell could be in your mind.

            It happens.

One of our classrooms had mold growing on the floor. Gross.

But yea, it might be originating from some unknown and hard to get to place.

If you leave dirty clothes around, even in a hamper, they will usually develop a musty odor. You might check your carpet and make sure water isn't leaking into it from somewhere.

At our old place, the hot water heater in the storage room leaked and left a weird stinky/moldy spot by the inside wall. I had my landlord fix it. A few days later, it exploded. Good times.

This exact same thing happened to me, the smell eventually went away, but I suspect it was from a drain in the basement backing up everso slightly.

I havent been able to find it yet, so I just have my windows open to let some fresh air in.

Since my room is right under the attic, Im thinking it may be comming from there. Mabye some water leaked through the roof, and now its funking up some old wood. Lots of wolf spiders up there.
