    PSX Box Templates

I'm looking into making a custom box art for Suikoden, because the original is sinfully ugly.

Anyone here know where I can find a template for this (front and back) or should I resort to scanning?

Thanks, man. I should finish my custom covers by tomorrow, so I'll throw them up here for everyone to see.

It already looks 10x better than the original.

Does anyone else find it difficult to make custom covers not look like crap if they come out of a standard inkjet printer? The colors bleed, the paper wrinkles...

take the image to a printing place. thats what I did for my replacement inserts for link's crossbow training and wii sports. I think I paid like 75 cents for each to be printed on nice, glossy paper.

              yeah.

I took in a normal wii game case so they could make sure the size was correct. the first time they printed it out it was just a little bit too small, so it's a good thing I took it in.

I'm having a hell of a time getting this sizing of this thing to match up with how it should actually be sized. Do you think it might be cause from my printer, or is the resolution really too big?

Guess I'm gonna have to scan the thing to see how it matches up with what I got from that website.

I'm also gonna have a hell of a time getting both sides printed correctly, so that they match up. I'll try taking it to Kinko's when I get it all sorted out.

If you're printing for a DVD case, you should print on legal paper. Not having any ****** me off a good deal when all of my covers came out just a little too small. Also, print through Photoshop using Landscape if you can. (If you're not getting it professionally, that is).

                    Re: PSX Box Templates

I won't be able to finish the back cover until I get my laptop back, as it has photoshop on it. But here's the what I've got done so far, with the images scaled down to 1/4 size.

                    Front Cover

Inside Artwork for the Front Cover

Inside Artwork for the Back Cover

And here's an alternative that I'm considering for this spot. What bugs me, though, is that the original image was much smaller and I blew it up so it's slightly pixelated, the coloring/tone are really light as as it was originally a GIF, and to top it off the image is crooked. I'll try to fix it up once I get my laptop back. Reason why I want it so much, though, is because the inside back cover for Suikoden II was the World Map as well, but this one is different as the game's take place in different regions so I can't just copy that one.

                      that is SO awesome.

                      and SO nerdy.

                      at the same time!

                        Looks really good.

From my experience the matte finish photo paper works better than the gloss finish.

Put the CD into your PC, fire up an emulator, and take a screenshot for that map?

                          Just a suggestion.

That is quite a bit of work you put into fixing the Suikoden box art Toaster.

Since the only reason the original Suikoden is in a double wide jewel case is because of the booklet, which is not even very bulky to begin with, I just stuffed it all into a normal jewel case and it looks fine. The booklet has the Japanese artwork. The additional inserts I tucked behind the disc tray, on top of the back insert. I put another back insert from a crappy game on top of that so the spine would have the ridge-y graphic like every other game. Five minutes of work to basically fix the problem
