Post whatever you've been enjoying lately and why. No disrespecting other people's opinions. Even if they're wrong.
Atreyu - Atreyu is something of a guilty pleasure for me. For whatever reason, no matter how many times I tell myself that their lyrics are fruity and their high-pitched guitar solos are cheesy, I just can't stop listening to them.
Hopesfall - It took me a long, LONG time to like this band. Now that I do, they're suddenly one of my favorites.
The Mars Volta - New album. Joy. I hope it's a little less self-indulgent, though.
Glassjaw - My undisputed favorite band of all time, probably because of the sheer amount of variety they pack into their songs. Very heavy, very unique, very inspiring.
He Is Legend - Frigging goofy. The vocalist randomly says things like, "Break it down" or "Shake that thing" in this impossible-to-take-seriously death metal growl. For some reason, I appreciate that. Oh, and their song, "The Seduction" features the line, "I've got to find the princess, she's in another castle."

For me its been........
Ween- Hilarious band The Pod is one of the highest albums I've ever heard.
Guided by Voices- To me their songs are hit or miss when they hit they hit when they miss they miss.
and assorted Bossanova and Samba songs.

Almost forgot:
Head Automatica - The best live show I've ever been to. All kinds of fun.
Wiko- A Ghost is Born
Better than Yankee Hotel Foxtrot? HELL YES.
The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou
David Bowie in portuguese.
RockCandy: Music inspired by Earthbound
Yeah, yeah. I know.
Anyone have links to samples of the songs you're talking about?
I've been listening to my Nobou Uematsu cd's. If you are special I've already shared some with you on aim.

Ted Leo & the Pharmacists, Tell Balgeary, Balgury is dead:
Ted Leo is some good rock. He jams out on the guitar like nobody's business.
The Flaming Lips, The Soft Bulletin:
This one's a classic in my book. If you haven't heard these guys, you should be ashamed of yourself. Other than that, I don't know exactly how to describe them. Unless you're bothered by some of their "silliness," it's some of the most beautiful you'll ever hear.
Opeth, Blackwater Park:
I've never been a fan of metal; much less scream-driven death metal like this. But, this album is great.

I listened to two things on my spiffy CD player while out and about yesterday:
Guilty Gear XX #Reload Korean Version OST: Because sometimes synths are good.
NOIR blanc dans NOIR Ltd. OST: Because I'm a sucker for the vocal songs.
So, uh, yeah.

- Yoko Kanno's Escaflowne soundtrack, particularly the cheesy rock anthem "Love" and the hauntingly dramatic/awesome "The Vision of Escaflowne."
- The theme from Conan the Barbarian. Quite possibly the coolest friggin' fantasy fight music ever.
- Whatever Yasunori Mitsuda songs I got. I'm in a very Mitsuda mood. "Kokoro" and "Pain" from his Xenosaga soundrack and the few Xenogears songs I have... I gotta find my OST and Creid CDs somewhere.
- Miles Davis' Sketches of Spain. Incredible jazz album, it sounds so distinct and unique and just plain rad. I'd love to use it for a soundtrack some day.
Escaflowne is nice but Mora doesn't know the meaning of the word overkill.

YES.
I've been listening to the Neskimos (http://www.neskimos.com/) recently. Dunno if people knew about them, but they're new to me.
You tell a guy that you like chanting and you get four hours of people yelling at you from your computer.

Some special ones:
The Police (greatest hits)
They Might be Giants (apollo 18)
Cake (Fashion Nugget)
Built to Spill (Perfect from now on)
Butthole Surfers (the weird revolution)

"please pass the milk please"
Apollo 18 is awesome.
Fingertips is genius, on any level.
That's a good list of music, for sure.
Just recently I joined not one, but 2 local bands that play once a week, so I've been learning all kinds of crazy stuff, meaning I'm listening to all kinds of crazy stuff.
One of the singers is sweet at doing Ed from Live's voice, so I've been listening to Throwing Copper a ton all of the sudden. And then the Wallflowers (a guilty indulgence) he's good at them too, so I've had One Headlight on repeat in my car learning the vocal harmonies.

The Butthole Surfers were so goofy. "Detachable Penis" is hilarious.

And the band Train, which I like, for some odd reason.
Oh, oh, and Orchid by Opeth.

My friend keeps trying to get me interested in Dimmu Borgir. I just can't listen to Black Metal without breaking into peals of laughter.

Dude.
Dimmu Borgir's Progenies of the Great Apocalypse is the greatest/funniest thing ever.

NESkimos, I believe they were posted a bit earlier. Their older stuff suffers from poor recording, but their newer stuff is amazing. Norfiar Tenemant Blues is tied for my favorite VG Remix.
Stemage, http://www.metroidmetal.com / I'm sure you guys know of them, they just came out with a rockin Super Metroid cover.
Pretty much anything worthwhile I can find on http://www.ocremix.org/ too.
