    Perseid Meteor Shower

Usually I don't want to detract Pavilionites from leaving the computer and making posts (it seems we get less and less of them each day), but tonight is supposed to be one of the best Perseid meteor showers in recent years, with up to 100 per hour.

So...go outside. I know it's weird coming from me, but do it! Meteor showers are cool! And I'm sorry if it's cloudy where you live.

Wooooooow! the univserse is so boring!

I would have liked to catch a glimpse but it's cloudy here.
Find a dog, honk it's nose. If you are bothered by this sentence. I guess you're just not cool enough for the noses.

damn city lights make it almost impossible to even see stars here.

Same here. I can barely make out the stars of Ursa Major, and most of the type only a few dozen stars are visible in the sky. Light pollution lessens us all.

        And it's cloudy to boot.

I went out for about 10 minutes, it was foggy and I could only see the southern half of the sky, didn't see one meteor.

There were quite a few lights on here, but I just used my hands to cover up those up, it was dark enough. I only saw like 10 meteors, but I was only out for like 20 minutes, so that's pretty decent. It was pretty cool.

I greatly enjoyed this tonight. Beach, fire, booze and a perfectly clear sky.

Is it too late? Usually these things keep going for a while but I'm no expert.

I watched it with my girlfriend and we only saw like four. She lives in the middle of nowhere, but the moon was awful bright, so that may have played a factor. We were disappointed.

I was sitting around with an ex and her family, and we just noticed them, and were laying on the trampoline for like 10 minutes, so I saw like 5, but I didn't care. Also, she has a giant pool.

                    Ex + trampoline + pool = FRIEND!
