A 29-year-old factory worker has been arrested for burning down his house after an altercation with his mother over manga/anime/video game franchise Gundam.

Living outside Kobe, Japan, Yoshifumi Takabe is accused of dousing his room in kerosene and lighting it ablaze with a lighter after his mother disposed of his "precious" Gundam plastic model figurines. Takabe intended to kill himself, but ended up escaping without injury as did his 55-year-old mother.

The two-story, 2,700 square foot partially wood house was burned to the ground.

Why would his mother take away a 29 year old's collectables? Why is her son mentally unstable? Why didn't he do the splts over an egg then do a summersault into an open watermelon? Why?

That is just stupid, I would need to know more details about what actually transpired between the mother and sun to know if her destruction of his property was justified, but there was NO justification for him burning down the damned house!

Hell, i think if anything happened to all of my video games i'd be upset and angry, and probably just move on. Although i think i'd be more upset if I lost my portables than if i lost my consoles nowadays.
