    Joe GI: Cobra of Rise

It's got explsosions and Snake Eye battles along with humorous situations from that guy who was in White Chicks. Could be him, he has lots of clones so I'm not sure.

I think it was fair, but that's what you expect from many summer movies.

Line was pretty long too :V

RottenTomatoes was at 91% at one point this week, but their site said that producers were only allowing select screenings, so I'm pretty sure once all the real reviews come in it'll drop below 40%.
    ...and that's why.

I liked GI JOE as a little kid. The figures were super posable and made good stop-action movie fodder. The show was beyond lame, though.

Dear Hollywood: get some fresh ideas. This endless regurgitation of old bull**** will never get me back into a movie theater. kthx~

I haven't seen the movie yet but *** SPOILERS ***
does Cobra Commander have his mask? I have seen some stupid picture that is supposed to be him, but he is wearing some kind of doctor's face mask.

Find a dog, honk it's nose. If you are bothered by this sentence. I guess you're just not cool enough for the noses.

I had faith early on, when we just had production stills to go by.

but the first trailers convinced me that this is garbage, and something I would never want to see. the sculpted face on snake-eyes' mask looks sooooo damn stupid. so do the sculpted muscles on his suit. and then those accelerator suit things?

its like the only thing they looked at when making this movie was the final seasons of the show, where everyone was decked out in day-glo colors and had all sorts of stupid gadgetry connected to them. and giant missile launchers. like that clip of the show up there.

It was the funniest terrible movie I've ever seen.

                Just horrible.

The only thing that made it barable was listening to my buddy, (a long time G.I. Joe fan) sigh in dismay every two and a half minutes.

Great shot Barroness, Don't get penis-ey!

Did the original G.I. Joe have power suits?

Maybe they should have retitled the movie "Centurions".

towards the end of the real american hero line, when they did the "star brigade" subline.

they even had a cyborg named robo-joe.

Apparently even that actors thought the power suits were stupid as hell. :/

I had one G.I. Joe as a kid. It was from a thrift store or something. It was one of the 12" ones, and had a fuzzy beard and fuzzy hair. My grandma got it for me when I was living with her for a bit. In retrospect, if I'd held onto it and it was in good shape, it'd be worth something now.

My buddy down the street a few years later had a big collection of the "regular-sized" G.I. Joes. He even had that 5 foot-long aircraft carrier that was in no way proportional to the rest of the vehicles.

I never got into G.I. Joe. I had my Star Wars figures.

Re: Joe GI: Cobra of Rise

I drank about three shots of bacardi 151 in the parking lot and once the spirits kicked in after the previews I had a blast. The movie was completely retarded but unlike Transformers 2 it knew that it was retarded and didn't try to be anything else.

Before I start, don't dwell too much on the accelerator suits. They're seriously the least dumb thing about the movie and you only see them in one scene.

The pacing was at a breakneck speed with each new scene cutting into the previous with no pauses in the action. Even simple talking scenes had stuff going on in the background it was ridiculous.

The writing was painful as was the acting. You have all of your super team tropes; tough leader-guy, wise cracking black guy, intelligent-but-boring-and-possibly-gay black guy, funny-sounding foreign guy, dumb bimbo that nearly gets herself killed and can't really do anything without the aid of her love interest who happens to be the wise-cracking black guy, and the ninja badass who gets more screen time and character development than anyone else despite the fact that he doesn't speak or do anything important but jump around and look cool while doing it.

The "origin" of Cobra is really dumb as is the reveal of Cobra Commander and Destro. Even worse, Cobra Commander's helmet is seriously laughable. My friend and I turned to each other simultaneous and laughed so hard I almost crapped myself. The ending pretty much screams SEQUEL more so than any other movie I've seen.

And yet, unlike Transformers 2 and Terminator Whatever, the movie wasn't boring at all. Even in my tipsy state I laughed, jeered, and "pffffed" throughout the film. Worth the $7.

Bring popcorn and feel free to toss it.

In closing, Serpentor better be in the sequel and he must be played by a middle-eastern guy.
