I'm from the future, posting this message.

Yes, time travel is possible. Once you read this, you will see the past.

    There you go.

        Re: Time Travel

I've read theories and accounts of mild time travel, but only forward.

Clock A and B are synchronized. Clock A is on earth. Clock B circles the earth at a high speed. Clock B is now seconds ahead of Clock A.

"There are various ways in which a person could "travel into the future" in a limited sense: the person could set things up so that in a small amount of his own subjective time, a large amount of subjective time has passed for other people on Earth. For example, an observer might take a trip away from the Earth and back at relativistic velocities, with the trip only lasting a few years according to the observer's own clocks, and return to find that thousands of years had passed on Earth. It should be noted, though, that according to relativity there is no objective answer to the question of how much time "really" passed during the trip; it would be equally valid to say that the trip had lasted only a few years or that the trip had lasted thousands of years, depending on your choice of reference frame."

Time Travel has always had a place in my heart, and is pretty interesting to read about. Practically though? I don't think anything substantial will ever happen.

Start with the wiki, move on to science articles and theories.

That's not time travel, that's just relative time.

Salamander, if time travel were possible, they'd know how to do it and probably WOULD be doing it.

            Re: Time Travel

I've always figured that if time travel was possible, we'd all be encountering our future selves on a daily basis and trying to fix our own lives all the time.

            time travel's wonderfully confusing.

Unless you subscribe to the idea that traveling back in time and interfering in events would just create parallel universes, not affecting our own.

If time travel were to be real, there is no way it would be open to the general public.

Yes. Lets try and stay away from a time paradox please!
