It actually does look like a good take on an "alien invasion" movie where the humans are the bad-guys in this scenario.

Should have used reptiloids instead of crazy-ass roaches. Looks neat though, it IS from Peter Jackson...sooo yes.

Looks pretty nifty to me. I'm interested, but whether or not I want to see it bad enough to pay full price or wait until I can hit the matinee will be decided as I learn more.

Huh. So no one saw this huh? I went last night kinda nervous about it, was it gonna be up its own ass or hammy? During the first half hour it was gearing up to be a zombie movie about aliens for a while but instead the movie turned out to be a really great balance of tense action, neat effects and some (kinda) emotional scenes. Throw in a pretty likable john everyman main character and some great people getting blown apart bits and you have this movie.

Some of my friends complained about the use of shakeycam and while it is there I don't exactly equate it to bad cinematography right off the bad, after all it wasn't the Bourne Ultimatum~

However, every single movie we had a preview for looks like absolute ****. Jennifer's Body? Some "gamer guy who has more video games than friends" movie about angels coming to kill everyone, Zombieland tried hard (as hard as a movie in this tired boring genre can do) with its Woody Harrelson lead but the promise of awkward teen supporting characters ripped straight from the annals of Dick & Snorah kinda ruin it. Then there was some Blair Witch movie but with aliens and starring Ultraviolet coming out at the beginning of the preview announcing who she is and how the following trailer will be SCARY & DISTURBING! Pass.
