The Last Straw! (X-Box Related)

I shall put up with this no longer; I've neglected my X-Box too much. I'm gonna seriously start purchasing some games for the thing. Better late than never, I say.

I'd like some recommendations from the X-Box fans here, though, since I've missed out on almost the entire generation (The only X-Box games I own at the mo are Toejam & Earl 3, an X-Box Music game and Crazy Taxi 3... so, saying I neglected it is an understatement). Yes, all two of you. Recommend as many as you'd like. Even ancient titles.

You might want to check out Gunvalkyrie too. It's not for everyone though. It's another one of those hard as hell Smilebit games like PDO.

Then there's Castlevania and Half-Life 2 on the way.

I see. Looks like an opportunity for me to actually get into the FPS genre. Anything else noteworthy? What's all this Fable stuff I've been hearing about?

fable fell short of everyone's expectations. it's actually pretty lame when you get down to it.

sure, you can get into FPS games, most likely the halo series. it's a shame far cry isnt on X box, because it tramples halo and halo 2 in every possible way.

I'd reccomend shenmue 2. if you've never played the first, it comes with the first game turned into a movie for you to watch and get caught up on.

Burnout 3 =
Otogi SERIES = at least rent one of the games to see if you like it.
Falbe = meh...

KOTOR 1 is better than 2, and Jade Empire is really better than them all. Unless you really dig the Star Wars vibe.

Make sure you pick up Ninja Gaiden tough. It'll kick your ass, but it is SO fun. Oh, and maybe the new GTA if you're into that series. If you like Gran Turismo type games, pick up Forza Motorsport.

Other than that... just go off of what everyone else is saying.

it's a sad excuse for a game system I think. I only still have it because I'm still holding out for something that will change the way I think.

Good luck with Steel Battalion. It's fun as hell at first, then you get to the impossible/extremely difficult sections of the game and want to crush hapless forest animals with the $200 controller.

Far Cry is coming out on XBox in October I think.

Also get Xbox Live. Its soooooooo worth it. You dont even have to pay for it really.

Most Xbox games come with a card worth 2 months of Live for free. I have about 5 of the damn things around. Only catch is you cant use it to renew your account. You have to use it to make a new one, but its no big deal.

Only problem after that is having to find an Xbox headset. But they sell those for like $20, or just find a good used pair.

OR.........Buy the big Xbox Live pack that comes with a headset, Crimson Skies or Mech Assault, and a year long Xbox Live account. It usually costs about $80-$90. But when you think about it you actually save some money on it.

This is all in canadian dollars though, so dont get all freaked out.
