I dont know how long they'll keep working, but they're working right now, and they've been working for almost 24 hours without issue.
hopefully the massive housecleaning that fixed all the strange errors over the weekend fixed them too. I dont know if it will, because I have absolutely no idea how vbulletin's social groups work. they started working right after the fixes were made, so, yeah. good sign? yeah. you can tell I really know what I'm really knowledgable about this crap, can't you?
so let's try. if they break again (meaning, lock admins out from viewing them), I'll just run along and yell at vbulletin tech support some more. I'm going to get them working properly, dammit.
if you dont remember how to access social groups, click your "usercp" link at the top of the page. social groups are listed uner "networking"
UPDATE -
Since social groups are still functioning without any errors, I have went ahead and enabled the creation of new social groups, and turned visitor messages (messages left on profile pages) back on.
Starting tonight, if you want to have the list of messages on your profile deleted instead of just soft-deleting them, post in the tech support forum. an admin will delete all visitor messages left on your profile page. you cant pick and choose, though. all or nothing. we'll only do it for people who have multiple pages of messages on their profiles.
