Looking for a tablet

My birthday's in like 2 months and I'm considering asking for a tablet for my birthday... Only I'm very clueless when it comes to this and I'd like to know if anyone can recommend me a good-sized, cheap tablet (like $100-$150).

I'm thinking about the Intuos3 4x6... It's only about $150 on Amazon right now.

Maybe, it's just me, but I've never felt like I had too little space even with the bamboo. Do you make gorilla strokes?

I have the Intuos 3 6x8 and I don't think I'd ever get a bigger one unless it was a cintique

I have a 6" x 10" Cintiq.

It's my bestest friend in the whole wide world.

It also set me back about $800.

I just never once thought I needed more space to draw.

I have a Cintiq 12WX.

I'm still trying to figure out how to properly enable the dual monitor option so that I can just drag a picture to the cintiq side and draw without all the photoshop options and windows bar at the bottom hogging up the screen.

I had heard from a random review on Amazon that too large of a tablet can be overwhelming for someone new to using one.

Not sure how it makes sense but I figured there could be some credibility in that statement.
