I don't usually post my sixteens online, but...

Just finished this one after several months of trying. It's not the best as far as word-twistage goes, but I love the message:

Everybody put your hands up if you dig this
Now put your ****in’ hands down if you’re religious
I gotta question your cerebral fitness
I’m about to break it down for you know bear witness
The god-heads are talkin, say I’m not far from hell, please
If I bust some Dawkins they’ll drop hard like my LPs
Droppin’ names like Noah and Ezekiel
The world’s only six-grand old? That’s completely bull
    We be full of curiosity
Why you make **** up? See that’s odd to me
There are pastors doin’ harm to thee
You should pass that cup, that’s my offering
There’s this thing called the scientific method
And those that use it are truly blessed
If we know where we’ve been then we know where we’re headed
Evidence all around, why don’t you get it?

      Then you're in luck.

      This won't have a melody.

Religion doesn't translate well into music period.

          Much less science.

          Well.... except for maybe....

Such a badass song. I wish Kanye was a good rapper again.

But it is what differentiates music from poetry and spoken word.

            Poetry: Rhyme and metre

            Music: Rhyme, metre, and melody

Which category does Hip-Hop fit into?

so vocals are the what makes music music?

              uuuuuuuh

poetry is written to a set rhythm and meter but not with specific music in mind. rap is. that's the difference. Considering how big a part the beat plays in rap, how can you seperate it entirely from music?

what about a rap song that has a melody? is that now music? if the hook or chorus is sung? HOW DOES THIS ALL WORK

              also, you're dumb

Though the funniest thing about this is, I can tell you just like to say "hip hop isn't music" because you think you've discovered something everyone else has overlooked (considering you've mentioned it like 4+ times in your 69 posts). You're proud of the fact that you don't consider them the same thing. Guess what. you're just nitpicking to look intellectual barf.

poetry =/= music most of the time.
Find a dog, honk it's nose. If you are bothered by this sentence. I guess you're just not cool enough for the noses.

My problem with your lyrics is that it's basically tired old "enlightning" garbage.

I imagine the other tracks will rap about why americans are fat, corporate greed, commercialism, and marketing.

If there's one way to promote the scientific method to religious fundamentalists, it's hip hop.

I want a country song for hard, unyielding atheism.

I mentioned it once on my own, Caciss. You're the one who keeps bringing it up.

If a "rap song" is sung, then it is not rap, but music. A decent example is Usher. His songs don't have the repeated cadences and melodies of most music, instead using Hip-Hop like variation. But he's singing, so it's music.

you're just nitpicking to look intellectual

I just like my understanding of things to be accurate.

                        * * * * * *

And Biggie, that's funny. Most people think of my other stuff as tired old "party" garbage, and find stuff like this a nice change of pace. Can't please everyone.

you just brought it up in this topic and:

FAVORITE ALBUM: Shadows on the Sun by Brother Ali (Hip-Hop)

Why Do They Rock So Hard? by Reel Big Fish (Music)
I just like my understanding of things to be accurate.
it's not accurate because seriously no one else thinks that.

Most people believe in god. That doesn't mean their understanding is accurate.

Both beliefs are pretty irrational and not well thought out.
