Firefighters in Zurich were able to avert disaster last week when they were called on by an elderly woman to extinguish a flaming television. Fortunately, the crisis was resolved with the push of a button.

You see, the television was turned to a German station that broadcasts a Yule Log-esque fireplace in the early morning hours, so a remote was the right tool for the job.

I think I wanna laugh at this, but it's not nice to make fun of the elderly. What was going through the old person's head? 'Let's see what's on tv right now...OH MY GOD THE TV JUST SPONTANEOUSLY COMBUSTED!!!'

OMG, I can't believe you said that, Valk! That was SO wrong. Old people may become senile sometimes, but they are good people! You saying that all of them are stupid was a gross generalization, and totally uncalled for!

...especially since the problem was obviously that the woman was SWISS.

Ugh, don't get me started about old people. Have to deal with them everyday at work....

They consatantly wander into the kitchen, yell at you becuase they don't remember being fed, and even take the occational swing at you... (Some are nice, I'll give them that.)

Nursing home?

My mom used to work at a nursing home, and I had to go there a few times to see her and I kept getting attacked by old people wanting hugs. It felt like Resident Evil.

Ya know, makes me wonder if we are living too long. If we didn't have some crazy pointless moral codes, we could put people down at that point. Like a dog with rabies, kinda.
