I'm not worried at all. If someone is smart enough to accurately predict most or all of a person's SSN, I think they would be better off using their talents to cheat at casino card games. It can totally be done, because I saw a movie about it before!Currently playing-

Solution to identity theft?
Do away with:
social security, national ID cards, requiring SS numbers be obtained from employers for tax and tracking purposes, fingerprinting and photos for drivers' license applicants, requiring biometric data for passports, credit ratings...
That would get rid of the majority of identity theft problems, and furnish a large degree of privacy among Americans compared to what little they have today The downside? Well, no real downside for the average person, but the government wouldn't have nearly as much control and information pertaining to its citizens as it does, nor would the banks, credit card companies, advertising firms, and a slew of other industries have nearly as large of a market base.

Well, your SSN is so that you can get your SS benefits. You provide it to your employer so that the government knows that you really are doing work, and are thus not cheating the system.
