I'm better than you, here's why.

All you guys spending money out the wazoo on the newest games, the newest machines, the fastest computers-

    I'm better than you.

I have less games, less systems, less computing speed. I'm about 5 years behind on technology.

You guys empty your wallets on every piece of crap that comes out, as soon as it comes out, because you believe the hype. You want to be up their with your friends, experiencing the same things they are, at the same time. Every new $60 game that comes out that you want, you buy immediately.

You bought your systems because you believed it would work out, despite everything bad they said about them. You bought them because there was one, single, shiny game out of piles of crap that you wanted to play.

    I'm totally better than you.

I sit back, I relax. A new game coming out? Neato.

I'll just wait until it's a bargain. Why? Because by then not only is it cheaper, by then I'll know for sure, thanks to you guys, whether or not I should even touch it.

I get to enjoy the classics of the generation, while you guys have to sift through the ****wads for me. And I'm saving money.

So I just want to say, thanks guys. Thanks for wasting your money for me. I appreciate it.

yes, i'm totally jealous that you guys have more money than I do.
    ...and that's why.

You know what, Denmo, I think we're quite alike. I got rid of my 360 for that very reason. I am pretty much satisfied with reading reviews and watching gameplay of the newest games, and the one's I really want to play, I'll just get when they're kind of older and cheap. I am behind on technology in general, not just gaming. I still have a 13 inch normal tv, a windows ME computer, and no cell phone...(well, maybe I should get a cell, but when I do, it won't be a blackberry or something).

Then again, if I were rich, I'd be buying every single game that came out for every system, just to have the world's sexiest game library...
    Currently playing-
Seiken Densetsu 3, Brain Lord, Terranigma (all SNES)

Yeah, I want to buy Ghostbusters, but can't afford it right now. Not to mention that Batman game is coming out soon and I want it too! But I won't be afford to afford it either.

I still wait until most games get really cheap before I get them, unless it's a must-have title or something where I really want to support the developers (mad world, which I actually seem to have ended up losing).

Hell, I've been wanting Burnout Paradise since it came out, and just grabbed it today on clearance at Target for around $10.

games I bought for full retail price this year: Fallout 3, Resident Evil 5, Klonoa, Mad World.

I have thirty games that I downloaded off the Playstation Store.

          God.

          Damn.

I've spent a lot more on games for other people than for myself this past year.

            Yes, my brain is backwards.

The only new games I've bought all year are the ones from small publishers like Atlus that more than likely won't see the bargain bin. Prototype, inFamous, all-that-crap-that-people-rush-to-buy I find on eBay.

I make 30% of my income on eBay. I type in "video game lot" and buy like 20 new PS3 games for 300$. I sell what I don't want to keep and always make back what I spent if not a bit of profit on the top.

I haven't "supported" the market in 5 years. Everything I buy is second-hand. You guys are stupid for running to gamestop, a horrible store, and tossing your money at them.

I rarely buy games at "full price" unless I *must* have it.

I got a ton of games sitting here already, that I need to play through. So I've stopped buying, at the moment.

This is the kind of stuff I bid on here. The only game in that lot that interests me is Mega Man Battle Network 3. I'll take it and keep it, break the lot up into 3 auctions of 8 games each, and set the reserve price to 40$ making my money back.

The more items in a lot, the less each item is worth individually.

Here's a recent auction I made away like a bandit. A complete Crusader of Centy with box and manual goes for 80$. Worth the auction alone.

I rarely step into a store anymore. eBay 4 life

I think Fallout 3 is the most expensive game I've got this year, and I got it used with my Edge card at Gamestop. It was almost 40 bucks for me after my discount. I always try to get games used. In fact, the only games in my house that aren't used are my Baldur's Gate 4-in-1 boxset I got online for like $18 and my Fallout Collection for about the same price. Going for the bargain is always the best way to go as far as your pocket is concerned. And if I *think* I "have" to get it. I usually rent it first.

And yeah, I'm starting to see where searching for it on the net is better than running to Gamestop.

I frequently buy video games and never play them.

I gamefly a lot of the games I play. Also working at the pawn shop I got good deals on games. (not anymore since I quit) It's basically my biggest hobby, and I have fun getting geeked over the new games.

I'm gonna try REALLY hard this year to slow down on my vidya purchasing habits.

Aside from the preorders I've got out right now (Cursed Mountain for Wii, Persona for PSP, Heavy Rain for PS3 (pushed to next year), and Scribblenauts for DS), I'm thinking of not preordering or buying new anything else this year with a few exceptions:

                              Almost anything Atlus releases
POSSIBLY Rock Band Beatles if there's a preorder bonus
MAYBE DJ Hero (still on the fence on that one...DJ Shadow was a MAJOR contributor)
If anything good at work drops really cheap on closeout

Seeing as how I buy new games and then don't play a lot of them until they would have dropped in price anyway, why not wait?
