    Kaerul goes to court today...*grumble...grumble*

As I am on probation for my rather..."near-miss-and-not-having-proof-of-insurance" driving skills in the state of Texas, I get to go downtown to review my insurance history. I either make it or don't, seeing as my coverage lapsed a few days (the agency went out of business) and I'm...well...tense, I guess. Heh. As I'm not eager to have my license suspended, nor am I a big fan of the SR-22. Any one placing bets on the judge letting me off the hook?

I wouldn't. But if she does...I'm going to sleep and not waking up until the weekend passes.... Ugh.

    Oh look, bunt cake....

    Texas is a totalitarian ****hole.

Guilty until proven innocent is the norm within the courts here, among other peculiarities that differentiate between Texas and most of the rest of the U.S.(which is bad enough as it is, but could be worse)

We are very stubborn people and tend to be "cut-and-dry" with things. Almost to a point of complete ignorance, I think. A lot of Texans tend to come off as intolerant, too (seems to me, anyway). But the Judge let me off the hook. Yay! I'm free to drive....

      ...until I **** up again.

Perhaps instead of riding on your luck, you could just change your driving habits? You know, that whole "learning from your mistakes" think I've been hearing about lately.

I'm glad you got another chance.

You're lucky you got another chance. Keep your driving to an absolute minimum, unless you don't mind the risk of getting caught, but be fully aware of potential consequences if you do so. If you do drive and want to minimize the risk of getting caught, stay in the slow lane and don't exceed the speed limit... you still won't be able to take the idiot drivers off the road though.

Yeah, the thing is...about that...I'm actually a safe driver now. The problem is that I went one day without insurance and expired tags and paid the price. You know what they say "The day you don't have it is when you will need it." And I happened to need it when a cop pulled me over for the tags and got a double-whammy for no insurance. Texas is one of the most strict about no-insurance and I have definitely learned from this experience, I hope. Heh.

Cutter: Funny thing is, I don't drive much anymore unless I have to go to get groceries. Lately since the economy has slowed my job some I haven't driven a whole lot lately. That'll hopefully change.
