After Ron Moore finished Battlestar Galactica a while ago, he started work on a pilot for a new potential series called Virtuality. This article on io9 goes in-depth on it, but basically it's a series about a team of people on a 10 year space mission to save Earth that use a holodeck-esque system to keep themselves from going crazy, but something starts going wrong.
It's supposed to be his most complicated, challenging project yet, which is probably why FOX decided that maybe it didn't want to make a series out of it and basically decided to air the pilot in the middle of summer on a Friday when no one would watch it. IF it does get enough of an audience they might decide to make a series out of it, but FOX and Moore are doubtful that's what will happen. But at least we get to see what they WERE able to make!
If you want a taste of it, there's a sample posted online here.
