[Dallas Alvis II]

Does anyone around here know about this stand-up comedian? He's not new to the stage apparently, because from I understand he's been making people laugh since about when I was born. I've been watching some of his material and I admit that I find him hysterical, mostly because of his expression and tone about him. Anyone know who I am talking about?

I thought he was pretty funny back in the ninth grade. I still like his squeezable jelly bit or whatever.

brian regan is a great comedian. if you want to liken his energy to dane cook's thats fair. but his joke writing is impeccable. he's been around for a very long time but never really crossed into the mainstream. he does have a dvd out through comedy central - so he's been getting SOME push.

anyway, he's awesome. glad you like him too.

That's what my old man tells me that he's not exactly as new as people may think. And I guess Dane Cook's energy could be comparable to Regan's. I notice now though since we're bringing Dane in "view", here, that they both tend to make fun of themselves a lot in their act (Friggin' Brian makes his career out of it).

I think most people my dad's age though, if they knew who he was at all, would remember him for his "Cup-of-dirt" story in the science projects bit. Or probably "Donut Lady".

Hmm...comedians that annoy me are the one's that get all seriously preachy to the audience...from what I've seen, Chris Rock seems to be doing that. Martin Lawrence did that too. I love em as actors and they are very funny in movies, but I hate them both on the mic. George Carlin did a little of that as he was closer to death and that kind of got on my nerves a bit but he was a very good comedian too.

Comedians are only annoying when you've seen their show like ten times and know it by heart, and it doesn't make you laugh anymore.
