But this time, it's real.
I just scored a 60 gig PS3 (out of the box, no cables/cords/etc), from Sam's Club, of all places, for $220. That's where I bought my original 60 gig PS3 6 months after it went out of production for $550. On a whim, I went there to see if they still had one left. The girl checked the system, and it said they had one. We looked in their lockup, and there were two 80 gigs in the box, one Uncharted bundle, and an open one sitting in the back that I did not initially see. She said, "There's an open one, but you probably don't want that one." I told her, "Actually, that probably IS the one I want." I checked, and sure enough, it was the 60 gig. As it was open, and probably sitting there for almost a year, it was $220.
I can go on ebay right now, and probably at least triple, if not quadruple my money. Or I can be a nice friend to my buddy who's been looking for one for a while, and sell it to him at a reasonable price. Or I can keep it as a backup in case mine craps out.
First, though, I need to go home and make sure that it even works.
