It's a PS3 exclusive SRPG that's kinda a mashup of a bunch of NIS-published games. I'll be buying this after work. It came out yesterday. This thread will probably garner 4 posts besides mine, and one or two of those will be from marcus.

Color me interested.

I heard Kos-Mos might be in it. Maybe.

Wake me up if she is.

In all seriousness, this game looked pretty alright, but last thing I need is another rpg.

It's not an RPG. It's an SRPG.

Also, some of the chickies from Capcom's Darkstalkers are in the game, as is Etna from Disgaea.

So what, it's like loli-land?

Pretty much.

The 13 year old in me screams for this game. But I know better.

For some reason I've been contemplating buying Super Robot Taisen-long-winded-title for a while now. The battle system looks interesting, but dammit if I don't already have enough vidya gaems to play.

It's the same kind of concept as Cross Edge. A bunch of characters with boobs from different universes meet so we can play as them in an RPG.

^^

You hit the nail square on the head. A winner is you.

As for Bagel's loli-land comment, only Etna's got the loli chest. All the rest are overly-endowed...except that one from Darkstalkers.

And there ARE, you know, guys in the game as well. It just seems to be female-centric.

Anyone realize that a bunch of NIS characters is true but not many. Cause the Disgaea plus one of the Main characters from the upcomming sequel to Mana Khemia, Ar Tonelico, and Atelier Marie (The main character) Also there's Capcom characters Namely from Darkstalkers in the game.

You evidently did not read past my first post, because I DID mention Capcom's Darkstalkers. And I DID state in the first post NIS-published, NOT NIS developed, because I know NIS didn't make all those games, but they DID publish them in America. And I didn't want to go to another website to find every game/character/developer represented in the game and them post them here. So I left it simple. Anyone interested can find that on their own, anyway.

Through their very own diligent 5-second Google searches.

BRC knows what's up.

Yeah, I kinda set you right up for that, didn't I?

Now you just have to find a time to use it on me again!

As for this game... ehhhhhhhhh. There's a lot of stuff coming out I'd like to play. But I have no money. =(

Yeah, I've thought of getting that game too. Why the hell are these kinds of games appealing to me. D:

Well you got me right there. Though the last game that had this many crossovers was the PS2 Strategy RPG Chaos Wars.

Oh god... this game is so boring and ugly. I didn't see this topic until now and when I bought the game today I thought it was another game in the Makai series. After playing it for twenty minutes I wanted to kill myself. The quality of the sprites and all of the scenery is almost SNESish. The combat isn't strategy RPG at all, despite the looks. The closest example I can think of is Valkyre Profile without the smooth flow or the fun. The dialogue is bland with one inane thing being said after another. Also seems that most of the characters in the game suffer memory loss. I love wasting my money. :(

Yeah, I was going on initial impressions from what I'd read. I guess it skews more to the straight-up RPG side of things than the SRPG side. Still have yet to play it.

I got this release day and haven't even opened it yet.

Probably a good idea not to.

I got this a few days after release day, opened it on the bus on the way home, and began playing last night.

It's actually pretty fun, albeit convoluted. Anyone thinking of picking this up: DO NOT trust all the 3-5 out of 10 reviews online. If you've played any of the niche JRPGS released in America by NIS or Atlus, you'll probably have a pretty good handle on this. Plus, there's an option for Japanese dialogue, which I'm using in my current playthrough.

The REAL reason I bumped this back up is due to the insane amount of DLC (http://www.nisamerica.com/games/crossedge/) already out and coming out on a weekly basis for most of the rest of the year. Unlike the PS3 Disgaea, at least half of this is free. This is a good strategy, I think. If they're giving you a bunch of free stuff, I personally am going to be more apt to give them a BIT of my money for at least SOME of the DLC. Probably not ALL of it, but I already did get some new costumes for $4.00. As of now, aside from the costume pack, everything else is free, and that's like 8 pieces of DLC. Stock up, guys!

EDIT: Click the DLC tab at the bottom of the page.

It's giving you tissues? It's clear what market this game is for.

For those with allergies?

I'm certainly glad you are enjoying it, Perversion. At least one of us doesn't get terrible headaches every time they play it. I'm not sure how you pulled it off, but good for you. Have fun.
