    the Royal Wii

Thw Queen of England has a solid gold Wii.
    Look here: http://videogames.yahoo.com/events/p...al-wii/1316670

It seems everyone who's very big and important is getting a Nintendo Wii. If Osama gets a Wii....

      Link seems to be broken.

Great to see the Queen of England setting an example to people who need to scale back needless luxuries and live within their means, though, by buying a solid gold Wii.

Well, seein gas how you couldn't read the link, which worked for me just now, you shouldn't make baseless accusations.

The Royal Wii was a PR stunt, given to her to help promote some new minigame shovelware.

there's a lesson to be learned here, but I'm not sure what it is.

Given that I couldn't see the link, a baseless accusation was the only type I could make!

Ah, figures. You know, not to slam the Wii just for the sake of it, but I have a feeling they targeted the right audience there. It's actually a damn good idea for PR if Nintendo gifted it to her.

Totally missing the point. I know you said this in levity, but it's well-known that watching any type of "lifestyles of the rich and famous" media makes many of its viewers yearn for the type of stuff they see there--if not a custom solid gold Wii, then at least something with lots of gold (or a Wii).

Warren Buffett, for example, would have auctioned it off and given the proceeds to charity. Then, if he wanted to play the games (which he wouldn't), he'd buy a normal Wii.

And it's only gold-plated, not solid gold.

Doesn't change the fact that the game being promoted looks like another asswipe collection of shovelware to further infest the Wii's library. Why do so many developers seem to think that games like Wii Sports and Wii Play are the way to go when Nintendo likely made those games as demos?

... Because they are cheap, easy, and at least marginally profitable.

The Royal Wii is only $250,000, as opposed to the Royal PS3, which is $400,000.

BTW: they were better off using gold INSIDE the Wii: it would have made it run better.
