    UMDs Doing Quite Well

    http://gamesradar.msn.co.uk/news/def...sectionid=1591

That's pretty cool. Convenience of mobility is dandy.

I wonder how they'll be considered in the future?

It's up to the person posting. We already talked about this.

        Yep.

And we don't have any UMDs other than games...

I usually don't watch movies more than once, like, every year, so I doubt I'd want to pay full price to only be able to see one on a device with such a small screen. However, this really does give more evidence, I think, that the PSP is a serious contender in the handheld market.

If I had to travel a lot I'm sure it would be worthwhile and I would invest in some movies. As it is, I'd rather get a DVD and watch it on the big screen.

I think the PSP has a lot going for it. I also think that a lot of its popularity rides on the fact that you can do all sorts of crazy stuff with it... I won't elaborate, but I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.

But the selection of movies is so bad.

Oh wait. The Pacifier just came out. My bad. Now the selection is AWESOME.

Indeed, lots of crazy stuff can be done as is being done with the current gen handhelds. Homebrewed apps playable on PSP, Linux on DS, microwaving... what's next, TV remote?

Oh, and I posted it here because of the people that frequent this board more often than the rest, who I prefer to hear from. In short: more optimism, fewer a**es. Not that I'm boycotting the VG forum, though. I just like posting my things of interest here more.

Personally, I'd rather buy a portable DVD player than purchase two copies of the same movie.

Still, the PSP does plenty more. I like storing pictures on my memory stick for easy portability. That and I also use it to transport .max files, so I can finally play all the RM2 games and maybe post my own (soon as I finish one), though its a bummer I have no way to transport PS1 saves w/o corrupting them.
