This topic will consist of information and discussion on Survival 2: The Second Sonnet. Any questions, ask here. This first post will be updated as necessary.
For now, the story and gameplay are copied from my original topic on this game from RPG Maker General. Refresh your memory, or not.
Story
-------------
The story of Survival 2 is unrelated, for the most part, to the first Survival. It exists in the same universe and features new characters (think Resident Evil 2 to the first, my only reference sorry).
The players takes control Rebecca, who goes by the nickname Becky throughout the game. Rebecca is a military brat who has returned to her place of birth, a hometown that she barely remembers. Because of her family in the service, she is well versed in firearms but is no means an expert, and her constant moving of base-to-base makes this hometown the forgotten blur that it is.
She has come back because of terrible memories resurfacing that had happened the day her parents uprooted her and moved away. When she comes back to this location- an old and apparently forgotten military outpost- she finds a strange mix of lunatics, cults, and monstrous abominations inhabiting this place.
Gameplay
--------------
The battle system within Survival 2 will be RPG Maker's default battle system. However, this is (hopefully) the only gameplay-related default setting that I use.
I have a custom experience system in Survival 2. There are 25 levels to attain. Each time the player levels up, they gain a Level Coin that can be used to purchase 1 of 25 perks. Naturally, to get them all, you have to do some grinding. I am aiming for the player to be around level 17 - 20 at the end of the game, through normal, non-grinding play.
Experience is earned in many ways. Defeating enemies in combat, scavenging items out in the field, and dispatching enemies through non-combat meanse.
Instead of money, the player must find items to trade for supplies. Supplies include bullets and mixtures for herbs, as well as bullets for the sniper rifle.
There is also a modified gun system from the first Survival. There are 6 guns. Yet guns are obtained through special means, and can only be changed at the computer terminals. Guns also can be leveled up, with Level 2 bringing more attack power and a hidden bonus perk.
A body part system is now added, to where the player can target the body, head, arms, or legs. Different creatures have different reactions. For instance, a dog is damaged normally by body, head, and leg shots. Yet targeting the arm yields no results.
Becky's surfacing memories will take a part in gameplay. Though unlike the first Survival there is only one difficulty, there are however multiple endings. Uncover her memories to try and get the true ending.
A custom menu system allows you to level up, equip your guns, and buy supplies.
This is it for now. Future updates will be given as needed. Any questions or comments are appreciated. Any other information will also be updated at Survival 2's wiki page.
