To Click or not to Click

Okay, so my super awesome gaming mouse's scroll wheel suddenly stopped responding after having it for two years. Being that it was over warranty, my boyfriend decided to try and fix it and cracked the little thing open. He took apart the wheel section and cleaned out all the dog hair (Connor's been checking out racy doggy pictures I think) and as he was putting it together, we had discovered that the piece that made the scroll wheel click didn't fit in right, so we removed it all together.

So, here is my very stupid question - Do you like your mouse scroll wheel to click or not to click? I prefer not to click, it gives me more freedom and feels smoother.

You mean like the little clicking noises and bumps that happpen when you scroll up and down?

Yes I do. Lets me be more presice with some things so I can just feel it.

Or maybe that's just what I am comfortable with I dunno. The ones without it always make me feel like it's a broken mouse.

I lost that same part after trying to fix my old mouse too. Having used a mouse both ways, I have to say I prefer the clicky-thing being there. While I like the fact that it doesn't produce that abrasive noise when I scroll, when I tried to scroll without it, it would sometimes overscroll or it would scroll back up a little, throwing me off.

See, and that's the thing I was worried about when it was removed from mine. I have no problem with over-scrolling, and I wasn't reliant on the click. Oddness.

it doesn't matter to me. I'm just as good with page up/down.

i never use it to click, i just scroll with it and use the 2 buttons to click. i remember when i first got a wheeled mouse - was the latest technology and i havent gone back since. its a must for web browsing.
