    Need Pose help.

Okay, so I'm actually working on my comic again for the first time in forever, and I'm having an issue with a pose. I have a character who was ontop a body (don't ask) and she had some guy swing a sword at her. The pose I need is one of her throwing herself sidewise off the body to dodge the sword. I've tried several kinds, but unfortunately I can't get the pose, I can't find references, and my art models are put up in storage at the moment pending room cleaning.

I'll try and post an idea of the set-up of the frame itself (it's a long, short frame), but I don't have a workable art program installed on my computer at the moment. If it helps, the perspective is dead on (eyeline at horizon level) and she is throwing herself off the body directly towards the right side of the panel. The guy is set on the left, swinging from right to left, and the dead body is about center (you are looking down at the top of the head) Can anyone give me any references?

^_^ Which art terms are we talking about? I can be rather vague.

I think she was referring to something sort of like this:

      Except, you know.. not terrible.

      Sivart: I'm a MAN.

Dear lord how did you know? It's similar, but not so much of a front view on the girl. It would be more level, like you would see the girl from a top angle?

And how did you know he was bald? Are you reading my mind again?

What i'm interested in is why she was riding a dead guy..

Because I am too lazy to crop the damn picture, here is the page. The panel I am having issues with is the fourth panel, mostly because I have no talent for dynamic drawing.

It's all lazy now, so please forgive the lack of details and talent.

Let me know if the size is too big.

Neato. Dunno about the pose (maybe just try something simpler?) but I'm curious what materials you're using.

                  Armored- Necrophilia--it's a problem she's seeing a shrink for.

Magus- What do you mean by materials? Pencil and paper? Or type of each?

Yes, why YES it is. It's been a problem since birth. Unfortunately there has never been a cure. We just chalk it up to big ego. I am willing to give myself errors in this image. I'm sick of drawing this page and just want it done.

Edit: OMG, you are horribly right. I didn't realize it. I think I fixed it. I dunno.

I don't think your problem is an inability to render dynamic movement at all. I saw the picture you were using for your source material, and I think THAT was the problem. It looked too posed, not caught in the moment of movement. You should try to set up your webacm to take some video clips, capture yourself using the prop sword, and then take some screen caps as your source material. That way you'd always have a full body in motion, not just a couple of parts posed to replicate that...that's really hard to do.

Thank you ADRIAN! It's not the exact pose I was thinking of, but it's the best and it fits well. Luckily it's still in pencil so I can tweak the details. (like her head is huge in the third panel and her body sucks, but we'll work on that)

                          OH YEAH.

The pose I was talking about was the one with you holding the T square, not the one Adrian made for you.

I can't tell there's a body in the middle of the middle panel. get some shoulders in there!
                            ...and that's why.

I think the angle of the body is too low to show the shoulders. You are kinda looking at the top of the head, but you just may be right....

Does anyone notice if her right leg in the fourth panel looks too stiff?
