Remember a while back when I said my stepmom became pregnant? Well, It was supposed to be born in August. Unfortunately, She was having some problems recently. My dad had to take her to the hospital, and.....well...

May 9th, 2009. Male. Blue Eyes. 2 pounds, 3.9 ounces.

This is horrible, because he was only in the womb for a little over 6 months. And the birth was a C-section. The baby is healthy and able to partially breath on his own, but he's being given that intensive care or whatever to keep him alive for now. Mom's coming home in 3 days, but the baby's staying in the hspital for now.

My littlest sister was born premature, so I can sympathize, though it wasn't this severe of a situation.

Stay positive man, the hospital is the best place he can be at the moment.

Chances are he'll be okay. Sadly permature births have become so common that the medial community really has the treatment and care down. My cousin was a premie and I think she was in the hospital longer than she was in the womb. Her health was a bit shaky for the first few years but now she's a healthy teenager and it's all but forgotten. I think she was still in the second trimester when she was born so she was even earlier than your lil bro.

My cousin's child was premature, so much so that the baby could be held in the palm of your hand.

Some health concerns, but he's doing fine. I think the boy will be all right.

That being said, when I saw the topic title, I expected far worse news than this.

I hope he gets better! Make sure you're there for your family if they need you. Like a couple others have said, his odds are not that bad; premie babies get good care and usually make it through okay.

Moral of the story is that premies become furries. So just remember kiddos, don't get born too early.

Just make sure that when he does come home you keep everything very, very clean and always wash your hands before holding him etc. Preemies have a rough time with their immune systems.

I'm sorry to hear that D13. I'm sure Hunter will be fine. I was born premature and I'm now 27 years old with no health problems. I will be praying for you and Hunter. If you have any questions just pm or ask in is forum.
